(BETHESDA, MD) — In keeping with its rapid growth and ambitious acquisition goals for 2022, Urban Atlantic Development welcomes real estate development veteran Brant Snyder as Managing Director of Acquisitions. Snyder will amplify and accelerate next steps for the master developer of inclusive, urban-infill, mixed-use and mixed-income communities that include The Parks at Walter Reed and Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, DC; the New Carrollton Metro in Prince George’s County, Maryland; and a mixed-use, mixed income project in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“We are thrilled to welcome Brant as we grow and continue to build value in emerging markets.  His experience in managing complex development projects coupled with his financial expertise in acquisitions, financial modeling, underwriting and capitalization will support Urban Atlantic as we expand our community-minded and innovative approach to creating vibrant inclusive developments around the country,” said Vicki Davis, Managing Partner at Urban Atlantic.

Snyder brings 17 years of experience in managing complex, mixed-use, and multi-family projects.  He joins Urban Atlantic from Hoffman and Associates where he led acquisitions efforts and helped build a development pipeline of 2.4 million square feet.

Previously, Snyder worked at Lowe Enterprises where he served as Vice President of Development and oversaw the execution, lease-up and sale of The Hepburn apartment building in Dupont Circle, the entitlement and design of Century Center Apartments in Crystal City and the acquisition and entitlement of the Randall School redevelopment in Southwest.  Prior to his time at Lowe, he worked at Madison Marquette, where he was closely involved in the initial equity capitalization of The Wharf.

He holds a Master of Science Degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. Brant is an active member of ULI and currently serves on ULI Washington’s Regional Housing Council, is a past member of ULI Washington’s Governance Committee and is a graduate of ULI Washington’s Regional Land Use Leadership Institute.

“Urban Atlantic’s experience with a wide variety of projects, including large-scale master planning, Class-A residential, mixed-income, workforce, affordable and senior housing makes this an exciting opportunity to contribute value and grow professionally,” Snyder said.  “I am thrilled to join a dynamic team with the right experience and capabilities to execute complex real estate projects in vibrant and emerging markets throughout the Greater Washington region and nationwide.”

Urban Atlantic Development holds a $3 billion portfolio of mixed-use and mixed-income projects that drive inclusive economic development. Through its subsidiary, Mid-City CDE, it has received $309 million in New Market Tax Credits that have funded nearly 40 projects in both rural and urban locations around the U.S. and its territories. Recent investments range from a buildout for a clean energy firm at a farmer’s market in Newark, NJ to the transformation of a blighted 12-acre parcel in Memphis, TN into a thriving marketplace to the construction and equipment of a new pharmaceutical manufacturing center in Puerto Rico.

“From Charlotte, North Carolina, to Manati, Puerto Rico, we’ve seen how strategic investment with tools like New Markets Tax Credits can create new jobs and opportunities.  Having Brant on board will enable us to continue to build value in markets across the country,” said Lois Fried President of Urban Atlantic’s Mid City CDE.
